In June 2004 aerial, French, photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand came to Cyprus in order to take pictures of the island.
Arthus-Bertrand has already photographed over 150 countries. The pictures of Cyprus will be included in the next edition of the book "Earth from Above", which has already sold over a million copies worldwide, and will become part of the international exhibition "The Earth from Above, an aerial portrait of our planet", that Cyprus will host in 2005.
The project "Cyprus from the Air" was initiated and organised by HathorArt Productions under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and was made possible with the sponsorship of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) and Cyprus Airways with the support of the French Embassy in Cyprus . The photographs were taken from a helicopter provided by the Cyprus Police.
