HENRI CARTIER-BRESSON

In the framework of “Francophonie 2007”* to be held from 7-31 March 2007 Hathor Productions will be organising the exhibition by world renowned French Photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson: Europeans. This Exhibition has toured successfully a number of European capitals. The Exhibition will be placed under the auspices of the French Embassy in Cyprus and in collaboration with Fotodos Photographic Association.

The Exhibition consists of 163 black and white photographs taken by over a span of 40 years, from 1930 to 1970, while he traveled across Europe . " Europeans" is a meaningful Exhibition, which reveals the multiple facets of Europe as recorded by the lens of Henri Cartier-Bresson during half a century. Paying a tribute to one of the most legendary and most notable international photographers and clearly illustrating the impact of the Second World War on Europeans – the poverty, famine and misery.

Bringing the Exhibition of one of the pioneers of modern photography to Cyprus will constitute by far one of the cultural highlights of 2007.
