Aude-Marie Auphan: Violoncello

Born in France , Aude-Marie Auphan studied at the conservatoires of Lille and Saint Maur des Fosses (Paris). Further studies took her to London where she graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1999.
She has performed as a soloist and chamber player in France, England, Sweden, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Egypt, Greece and Cyprus. From 1997 to 1999, in parallel to her studies in England she worked regularly with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse.
Since 1999 she is Principal Cellist with the Cyprus State Orchestra.
In Cyprus , in addition to her Orchestral work, Aude-Marie Auphan also appears regularly as a chamber performer, with a particular interest in contemporary music.
She has worked with a number of Cypriot and foreign composers, among them Christos Pittas with whom she has developed a close collaboration since the premiere of Antigone in Cyprus (2001), which she performed at the Megaron , Athens in April 2003, in a tribute concert to the composer, Savvas Savva, whose concerto for cello and orchestra she will premiere in May 2003, Sophia Serghi, and Lior Navok.
She has also collaborated on several occasions with the Dance Theatre of Arianna Economou (Echo Arts).
